Epiphany is Committed to Those in Need - Locally, Nationally and throughout the World

Epiphany Episcopal Church is committed to offering our Time, Talent, and Treasure to Outreach. We strive each year to donate ten percent of pledged income to supporting outreach efforts in our local community, nationally and internationally.

Here are some highlights of Epiphany's outreach efforts:

1. The Food Pantry - Epiphany continues to provide volunteer, food and financial support to The Food Pantry - A joint ministry of Epiphany and Community of Faith United Methodist Church.

2. Compassion Ministry International - Epiphany supports a child through Compassion Ministry. Her name is Amanda. She is 8 years old and lives with her parents in Nicaragua.

 3. Stop Hunger Now - On June 22, Epiphany was joined by Community of Faith for a Packathon. We packed 13,000 meals in two hours to help stop hunger in our world. The 2016 Packathon is planned for Sunday, June 26th and promises to be even bigger than last year.

4. Angel Kisses Race - Epiphany was a proud sponser of the 2014 Angel Kisses Race on Mother's Day.  The race supports the Jeffrey Virostek Fund (a component fund of the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia) that helps families dealing with childhood cancer.

4. Mission - In August, Epiphany members joined St. Anne's Episcopal Church (Reston) on a mission trip to the Dominican Republic. We hope to extend this effort next year by expanding our participation with St. Anne's and/or planning a domestic mission trip.

5. FACETS - Epiphany has made a 3 year financial commitment through 2016 to help FACETS reduce homelessness in our area.

6. Hypotyermia Shelter - During the week of December 21 (yes, that was Christmas week) Epiphany had the privledge of hosting the FACETS Hypothermia Shelter. We enjoyed providing food and a "room at the inn" for our neighbors who are homeless during that special week. It was truly the best Christmas ever and we look forward to hosting again this coming winter!
